About Our Figurines
Part of what makes our sculptures so unique is that in this day of mass production our sculptures are made exactly the same way that Sandra Brue first made them.
Here are some interesting facts about the figurine process:
- Each sculpture is based upon a live animal that acts as a model for the final result.
- Each original sculpture is hard worked in an oil-base clay that allows the artist like Sandra to get it just right.
- Once the sculpture is completed, the process of adding the hair begins. Each hair is individually etched. No shortcuts are taken by using a rake or comb.
- Each sculpture is hand poured which insures that it is free of flaws and bubbles.
- Finally each sculpture is individually hand painted. This final hand process allows for each sculpture to be just slightly different and unique.
